Welcome to Barley Meadow Touring Park exclusively for adults. Our aim is to offer you a peaceful, relaxing, traditional camping stay in a location that’s perfect for exploring Devon (and Cornwall) just minutes from the A30. Small and very easy to navigate with just 52 pitches in 4 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds within the Dartmoor National Park. We are a “peace and quiet” site aimed at relaxing and unwinding breaks for caravans, motorhomes, camper-vans and tents.
Ideally located with excellent access to many wonderful locations around Devon and beyond, the National Trust Castle Drogo and Fingle Bridge are nearby with their lovely walks and tracks, and the ‘Two Moors Way” is on our doorstep (a well trodden coast to coast walk across Dartmoor and Exmoor).
We are easily accessed from the ‘old’ A30 (which is typically a local traffic rural road as well as cycle route however please do expect some road noise) providing excellent easy access onto the main A30 just a few minutes away, thus making our site an excellent stop-over location or perfect for exploring the local area and beyond. Devon’s historic capital EXETER is only 20 mins drive away (or 40 mis on the bus from the park entrance!).
Our onsite shop provides most essentials or a footpath from the site gives direct walking access to out neighbouring farm Oinkers Farm Shop & Drake’s Cafe
Dog friendly (max 3 dogs per pitch) we have a dedicated secure ‘dog run area’ especially for dog owners which enjoys fantastic views across to Drewsteignton and the moors beyond.
For walkers, the popular ‘Two Moors Way” is within easy walking distance of the park (accessed either via a short walk along the the road directly at the front of the park (please be aware there is no footpath/pavement) or via the footpath directly from the park then along country lanes). You can also walk directly into the small village of Drewsteignton (circa 25mins, please be aware as you may expect being in rural Dartmoor most walks from the park involve their fair share of long up-hill sections which may not suit everyone).
A short drive (or longer walk) to nearby Fingle Bridge and its Fingle Bridge Inn or Castle Drogo provide alternatives or jump on the bus from Crockernwell Shelter (a short walk along the front road) which will take you further into Dartmoor, including Castle Drogo car park where beautiful walks and refreshments at their cafe await!.
Cyclists will also enjoy the many cycle tracks that Dartmoor has to offer making us a perfect stay for cyclists. More info
There is a bus stop right at the park entrance (6 & 6A local services) this is a request stop. Full details will be provided at reception onsite when you arrive, or the bus operator’s website link here. You can hop on the bus into the village of Cheriton Bishop where there is a shop & Post Office plus the village also benefits a doctors surgery.
We have a selection of hardstanding fully serviced pitches (direct connection to 16A electric, freshwater and a wastewater point), hardstanding pitches and grass pitches. Electric hook-up is cost optional.
